According to a report from the US WardsAuto automotive industry analysis center, the vehicle production in Mexico grew 8.9% (50,015 units) during the first quarter of 2017 in all categories, while the joint manufacture of the three countries that below to NAFTA decrease 1.7%
This improve is mainly due to the production increase of the automotive enterprises General Motors (126%) y Honda (102%).
On the other hand, total vehicle production in USA and Canada decrease 3.22% y 9.1% respectively, during the same period.
According to figures from the United States Department of Commerce, export of vehicles from Mexico to USA increased 10% in January.
Progress in the production of vehicles in Mexico happens in moments of profound uncertainty for the automotive industry in North America, one of the more integrated in the world thanks largely to the NAFTA.
