Between the municipalities of Llera and Casas, 45 minutes from Ciudad Victoria, is developing Tres Mesas Wind Farm. This week we’re inaugurated the first two of the three phases of the project. According to Angélica Ruiz Celis, Vestas México Director, Tres Mesas will reach it’s complete development in 2024.
The estimated investment for this project is from 315 million pesos. It will count with 35 generators with 148.5 MC capacity, at this time, only 19 are operating.
On the enviromental performance is estimated:
1) Approximately 510 GWh of electricity generation during the first year of operation.
2) Displacement of approximately:
a. 200,599 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide.
b. 1 metric ton/year of sulphur dioxide.
c. 700 metric ton/year of nitrogen oxides.
The energy generated will be acquired by companies as: Sigma Alimentos, S.A de C.V as well as subsidiaries of Alfa S.A.B de C.V and Wal Mart de México S.A.B de C.V.
Tamaulipas has been recognized as one of the territories with the greatest potential for the generation of wind power, according to the State Governor, Francisco Garcia Cabeza de Vaca, it has 20 projects to generate clean energy.
